Do I get a matching tee-shirt?

Sorry I haven't blogged in a couple hundred days, it's been hectic as usual. Our fall "break" just meant the Architecture professors knew they could pile more work on to our already-overflowing workload. But everything is fine, I just finished my project due tomorrow so I should be able to get a decent night's sleep for the first time in forever tonight. We're working on our final project for studio, which isn't due until the day before thanksgiving break, which is designing a chapel and garden to go in the place of the parking lot adjacent to the Church of the Little Flower. The whole area is really nice, on the one side of the parking lot is the church, and the other side of the parking lot is the St. Theresa of Lisieux catholic girls school. That project is going to be quite the challenge, because you don't want to create something so overbearing that it takes away from the church, but you also don't want to create something so small that it becomes unnoticed.

In drawing, we've been doing more and more of the architecture version of busy work; taking in a bunch of material, looking at a bunch of floor plans, and regurgitating the information. I can't say I enjoy the projects we're doing right now, but they definitely help-- and all of our techniques have improved greatly.

When I get a chance to talk more, I'll post a longer blog update. Again, sorry for the delay. I miss you all so much, and I can't wait to see you over thanksgiving break.

Lots of love,
Norman

  3. again -- Bridgey made me laugh out loud. I have to stop bringing my OJ in here to drink while I read -- the screen is getting sticky!!!

I'm so glad to hear from you!!! I was beginning to think that this was a Grandma, Bridgey, Daddy chat room -- we are having so much fun with the blog - but we need our Blog LEADER to chime in every once in a while!!! I love reading about all that you are working on, and I love knowing what your days have been like. You sound so busy, but you also sound like you are enjoying the process. You are also going above and beyond with your projects and we are very proud of you for that! I was so thrilled that you attended Mass at the Church of the Little Flower -- what a wonderful and thoughtful way to get a sense of the church community you are desinging for! You are taking extra steps on each of your projects, and I'm sure that your interest was greatly appreciated by Sister Elizabeth, and by your professor. I am so proud of you!

    Heard today in pre-K:
me: What are you going to be for Halloween? child: Mommy said she wants me to be "calm" but I don't think she bought me the costume yet!

    They make me laugh!

love you so very much!!! 143

I think Sister Elizabeth would like a framed copy (so would I!) I plan to google the church & see what info. I can find---knowing how much St. Theresa means to us makes this project extra extra special!! I am sure she will shower our family with roses from Heaven----(she already HAS!!!) 1-4-3 xxxoooxxx

  7. Hi bridgey, I wound up sleeping until 4 and then going to the football game at 4:30, which I just got back from. I'll give you a call tomorrow as soon as I can.

And for halloween, I'm going to be an Architecture student. I'm going to dress up in plain clothes, and use makeup to darken the already-existing black circles around my eyes. I should be terrifying.

  8. Hi Angel!!! you slept until 4pm??? You must have been exhausted. You need to take care of yourself! The last I had heard from Daddy was that the Canes were making a comeback -- how did it turn out? Hope you had fun at the game and hope you have a great Sunday. As I'm sure you know, the Devils did NOT make a comeback. Daddy and Edward had so much fun at the game, even if the Devils did not, but it wasn't the same without you! It was incredible that you won those tickets for your brother and Daddy -- Edward was very very happy and excited, and Daddy had so much fun. What a wonderful thing for you to do! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday, and that you have a great week. You are a funny boy -- I love your halloween costume! I'm going to be an architecture student's mommy -- black circles under my eyes, because I worry about my little boy, portfolio of your work in my hands, because I am so proud of you, and a big box of Kleenex, because I miss you!!!
Hmmm -- wonder what Bridgey was thinking of for your costume???
love you lots -- mommy 1-4-3

  18. HOLY COW...I was JUST coming on here to do this exact same thing!! That is crazy.

Anyhow, I am doing well today. Did many loads of laundry and put away the Halloween decorations. Wiped out the fridge. Baking soda and hot water is good for that - add a little vinegar for tough spots. Had some chicken noodle soup for dinner. Could use a good recipe for that. Have you read any good books lately? I am reading Aunt Sally's Brownie handbook and a book called Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. We watched a movie tonight about the miracles at Lourdes. Kathryn got to bring Traveling Mary home from CCD. (Yes, it is Mary, and she travels from house to house for a week.) It was nice for her. Anyhow....Off to fold some laundry and watch some TV. Geeeee, glad my life is so exciting....Who needs college updates anyhow? We really need to redecorate this blog. Maybe pink and purple? Flowers? Polka dots? Maybe some fairies and unicorns?
